Jed Howard’s left-handed versatility gives Davidson a useful two-way chess piece
In the 2025 season, Jed Howard was a senior lefty listed as an OF/LHP at Davidson, with a 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame and a true utility profile that can help a staff and lineup in different ways.[3] He flashed early offensive pop in 2024 with a .256 average, four doubles, a triple and 12 RBIs in 26 games, and he opened his Davidson career by going 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs against Villanova; he also earned Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors after hitting .636 in that series.[1] The clean takeaway: he’s not just a box-score player, he’s a left-handed, team-first piece with some bat-to-ball upside and enough mound value to matter when roster flexibility is the name of the game.[1][2][3]
