Southern DB Darwon Hammond brings a seasoned, physical presence in the secondary
Darwon Hammond is a Southern University defensive back whose appeal is built on reliability, physicality, and steady play in the Jaguars’ defensive backfield. Available team data confirms he has been part of Southern’s defensive rotation, but there isn’t enough publicly surfaced 2026 stat detail here to make a precise production claim. For a team, the fit question is simple: if you want a DB who can tackle, stay engaged, and bring a hard-nosed edge rather than just chase flashy ball-hawk numbers, Hammond looks like the kind of competitive depth piece that can help stabilize a defense.
