Kennedy Payne brings depth, defensive versatility, and emerging bat potential to ETSU
In the 2024 season, Kennedy Payne appeared in 13 games with eight starts for East Tennessee State, made her collegiate debut against Delaware, and picked up her first hit against Appalachian State while also earning SoCon Honor Roll recognition[1][2]. Listed as a 5'9" utility player and entering the 2026 roster as a junior, she looks like a flexible roster piece who can move around the diamond and give a staff lineup options; the early-career production was modest, but the upside is in her adaptability, steady development, and value as a glue player rather than a stat-sheet hog[1][3].
