Matthew Messler brings depth and size to Valparaiso’s linebacker room
Matthew Messler is a Valparaiso linebacker who profiles as a steady depth piece rather than a headline-grabber, with ESPN listing him on the Beacons roster and recent team roster data showing him at 6'0"[1][8]. Publicly available sources do not provide robust stat lines or scouting details, so the best read is that he is a low-profile, role-oriented defender whose value would come from reliability, physicality, and fit in a system that needs disciplined linebackers more than splashy production[1][2].
