veteran Ole Miss edge with proven JUCO sack production
Markel Winters brought real juice to Ole Miss as a junior-college transfer, earning top-50 JUCO and top-10 JUCO defensive end recognition while leading the MACJC and ranking second nationally in the NJCAA with 16 sacks in his sophomore season; at Ole Miss, his 2017 season showed him as a useful rotational disruptor with five tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry in 11 games. That profile screams effort, pass-rush instincts and snap-to-snap motor—exactly the kind of edge player teams love when they need a tough, experienced presence who can win with urgency and timing rather than just raw measurables.
