active Iowa State DB with early-season impact and a tackling edge
Powers stands out as a physical, assignment-sound defensive back who was already making noise early in the season, including 17 tackles and 15 solo stops through Iowa State’s 3-0 start in the 2025 season. Reports describe him as a steady presence who helped bolster a stingy Cyclone defense, which is the kind of resume that matters if you want a DB who competes, finishes tackles, and fits a disciplined secondary.[2][3]
