Clayton Poliey gives Rider a veteran lefty with strike-throwing bite and big-game poise
Poliey enters the 2026 season as Rider’s steadying force on the mound: in 2025 he made 14 starts, went 3-2 with a 7.65 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 57.2 innings, and in 2024 he logged a 4.78 ERA with 51 strikeouts in 64.0 innings while earning two MAAC Pitcher of the Week honors. He’s not just a box-score arm — he’s shown he can work deep, handle pressure, and deliver signature outings, including his first career complete game and a six-strikeout shutout turn in 2026. If you want a competitor who keeps attacking, he fits.
