South Alabama’s big-bodied freshman righty showing real strikeout bite
In the 2026 season, South Alabama RHP Will Sparks flashed a promising power profile in limited bullpen work, posting a 4.91 ERA with 4 strikeouts in 3.2 innings while earning his first collegiate punchouts against Tulane. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound right-hander already has a reputation for missing bats, backed by a standout high-school résumé that included a 19-strikeout no-hitter and a 1.89 ERA as a senior. He looks like a developmental arm with swing-and-miss upside and the competitive edge to matter if he sharpens command.
