Dylan Henshaw is Stony Brook’s freshman starter with poise, strike-throwing upside, and a real swing-and-miss floor
In the 2026 season, Henshaw emerged as one of Stony Brook’s most useful rookie arms, making 18 appearances and six starts while going 2-1 with a 3.86 ERA, 22 strikeouts, and a .215 opponent batting average over 37.1 innings. His best calling card is maturity: he handled both relief and starting work, posted a 2.70 ERA in conference play, and even delivered a four-inning scoreless CAA start against Towson. The backstory matters too—he returned after missing all of the 2024 high school season because of injury, which makes the early production and resilience especially compelling.
