a name to watch in Kent State’s backfield
James Ruggiero is part of Kent State’s 2026 football roster, but public stat lines and scouting detail on his on-field production are limited right now, so the cleanest read is that he’s still more of an evaluation piece than a proven headline-maker. For a team fit, that means upside over certainty: you’d want to see his burst, contact balance, pass protection, and special-teams willingness before betting on him as a featured RB. If he’s an aggressive, high-effort runner with reliable hands, he could carve out a role quickly; if not, he’s still in the prove-it phase.
