Cooper Powell is a crafty lefty with SEC-ready strike-throwing upside
In the 2026 season, Cooper Powell has been a useful bullpen piece for Texas A&M, posting a 2.19 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 12.1 innings while holding hitters to a .159 average. He’s a 5-foot-11 left-hander whose fastball has reportedly touched 94 mph, and his appeal is the combo: real bat-missing stuff, decent feel for sequencing, and enough polish to survive big-game spots. The caution flag is his shakier regional outing against USC, so he looks more like a high-upside relief weapon than a finished product.
