High-motor Illinois State DL with upside in the trenches
Jonathan Friend projects as a **workmanlike interior defender** for Illinois State, with the kind of trench toughness and effort profile that usually translates well in a physical FCS front; however, the available public results here do not include current individual stats, so his evaluation is better framed by role fit than box-score production. If your team wants a defensive lineman who can bring **effort, toughness, and rotational value** rather than instant headline numbers, he is the type worth tracking.
