McLeod Bethel-Thompson brings veteran calm, but Sacramento State fit is unclear
Bethel-Thompson is a seasoned 6'3", 230-pound quarterback whose appeal is polish, size, and a long track record of operating as a pro-style passer; in the 2026 CFL season, he has seen limited action and has produced 103 passing yards on 9-of-16 passing with no touchdowns and 1 interception. The bigger story is experience: he’s a Sacramento State product with years of professional reps, which gives him a steady, low-drama presence in the huddle. If you want a mature decision-maker rather than a raw upside gamble, he’s intriguing; if you want a young developmental centerpiece, he’s probably not your guy.
