6'1" Left-Handed Two-Way Freshman Haley Strain Brings Size, Arm Talent, and Upside to SIUE
Haley Strain is a high-upside SIUE pitcher/infielder whose calling card is her unusual 6'1" left-handed frame, giving her real matchup value in the circle and on the field. In 2026, she logged 58 2/3 innings with a 6.20 ERA, earned her first collegiate win in relief at Lindenwood, and also showed some bat value with three hits and a home run. SIUE recruited her after a decorated high school career featuring All-Conference, All-Section, and MVP honors, plus multi-sport competitiveness that suggests toughness and coachability. [1][7]
