Power arm for HCU, but 2026 results have been bumpy
In the 2026 season, Houston Christian right-hander Trent Barnes has flashed arm strength and size at 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, but the production has been uneven: he entered the final stretch with a 6.95 ERA, 22.0 innings, 11 walks, and 11 strikeouts, and team game logs show he’s been hit hard in several outings. His appeal is the upside package—strong frame, right-handed velocity profile, and a baseball bloodline that suggests feel for the game—but the current fit is more developmental than plug-and-play.
