Live Arm, Left-Handed Look, and a Freshman Ceiling at Liberty
In the 2026 season, Liberty’s freshman LHP Kaleb Smith brings a promising lefty profile with a compact frame, controlled delivery, and a short arm action that helps his fastball play with arm-side run and late life. Recruiting evaluations praised his competitiveness and intent, plus a usable slider and changeup that give him a real starter’s foundation. The big question is polish and consistency, but if your team wants a young pitcher with room to add velocity and a sneaky tough look, he’s exactly the kind of arm worth betting on.
