Shawn Grant brings size and versatility to UMBC’s backcourt
Grant is a 6-foot-4 guard who fits the modern, versatile wing/guard mold: long enough to defend multiple spots and skilled enough to handle scoring and secondary playmaking duties. His high-school background at Saint Francis points to a proven winning environment, including a strong junior-year stat line of 15.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2 assists per game, which suggests he can impact the game beyond pure shot-making. For a team, he looks like a useful fit if you want a multi-tool backcourt piece with length, toughness and lineup flexibility.
