Gritty Forward from UTRGV's Late-2000s Era
Aleeya Grigsby, a 6-0 forward for UT Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros (2006-10), showcased clutch second-half heroics like her 12-point explosion to rally a 54-49 comeback win vs. Albany in 2008, paired with elite rebounding (career-high 6.7 rpg per ESPN) and a team-leading 54.7% FG in her senior year (10.3 ppg overall). High school Gatorade Kansas Player of the Year, she brought relentless intensity and fast-break prowess—perfect for teams needing a battle-tested, physically dominant frontcourt spark who thrives under pressure, though her college career predates current WNBA contention.
