Kayla Owens brings UCLA a tough, versatile guard profile with proven hustle
Owens is a defensive-minded, high-effort UCLA guard whose value has consistently come from doing the gritty work: rebounding from the perimeter, creating extra possessions, and adding secondary playmaking. In her 2021-22 UCLA season, she played 28 games with 16 starts and was third on the team in offensive rebounds and fourth in blocks, which points to real versatility for a guard. Her scoring is not the headline, but her intensity, willingness to defend multiple spots, and rebound rate make her a useful fit for teams that need toughness, energy, and low-maintenance winning habits.
