Alex Carbonel’s Playmaking Pops: A Steady Saint Mary’s Floor General
At Saint Mary’s, Alex Carbonel stood out as a dependable, pass-first guard: in the 2011-12 season, he led the Gaels with 80 assists despite missing six games with injury, and averaged a career-best 9.9 points per game. That combo of vision, efficiency, and toughness is the selling point—he wasn’t just a facilitator, he was a steadying presence who could still score when needed. For teams looking for a smart, composed guard who can run an offense and compete through adversity, Carbonel fit the bill.
