Makayla McClain is App State’s lineup engine — power, patience, and clutch production
In the 2026 season, Makayla McClain turned into App State’s offensive spark plug, leading the Mountaineers in batting average (.391), OPS (1.298), home runs (18), runs scored (64), hits (63), RBIs (46), walks (29), stolen bases (13), and slugging (.795). She’s not just a stat-sheet bully: she earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors and NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Second Team recognition, showing she delivers against the league’s best. What makes her special is the combo of middle-infield versatility, real power, and a big-game edge — the kind of player who makes a roster louder the second she steps in.
