Alcorn State’s BJ Shelby-Rankin brings length, upside, and secondary flexibility
Bertrelle “BJ” Shelby-Rankin is a 6-foot, 185-pound defensive back listed as a freshman for Alcorn State, with a safety background that hints at versatility in the back end.[1][7][12] He’s more of a projection piece than a stat-sheet star right now—public stat pages show little current production—but his frame and DB/safety profile suggest value as a developmental defensive back who can grow into multiple coverage roles.[1][2][3]
