Tyler Castro brings steady contact and lineup flexibility for Eastern Illinois
In the 2026 season, Tyler Castro has been a reliable left-handed bat for Eastern Illinois, hitting .301 with 55 hits, 37 runs, and 27 RBIs while starting 50 of 52 games as a graduate utility player.[2][7] His biggest value is versatility and consistency: he’s not a flashy power profile, but he gives a team dependable at-bats, defensive flexibility, and the kind of everyday stability coaches trust in big spots.[3][7]
