Cal’s veteran edge-setter with real ball-production chops
Marqez Bimage is a rugged, experienced linebacker who brings run-fit toughness and disruptive instincts to Cal; in the 2021 season, he posted 40 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries, earning second-team All-Pac-12 recognition from PFF and honorable mention from Pac-12 coaches. His differentiator is playmaking: he attacks the edge, finishes in traffic, and has a knack for stripping or recovering the ball. That kind of energy plays anywhere—especially for a team that wants a physical, high-motor defender who can change possessions, not just fill a gap.
