Lance Whitaker brings veteran guard grit and team-first edge to UIC
In the 2014-15 season, Lance Whitaker posted career-best averages of 5.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game for UIC, a nice hint that his value went beyond spot-up minutes; he was also a 6-foot-4 guard/forward with enough size to play physically on the wing and enough versatility to chip in across the box score. Reports from UIC also describe him as a former team captain, which usually means leadership, composure, and buy-in — the kind of glue guy coaches love when they need reliability more than flash.
