Ambry Lucas brings grit, power upside, and real resilience to App State's infield
In the 2023 season, Ambry Lucas appeared in 21 games for Appalachian State and posted a .091 batting average with a .341 OPS, so the raw stat line wasn’t flashy—but her value goes beyond the box score. A former multi-time all-county and all-region honoree in high school, Lucas was recognized for her competitive edge and leadership, and her recruiting profile listed her as a versatile corner-infield option. Her backstory also stands out: she has battled an ACL injury/retear journey, which adds context to the toughness and perseverance she brings to a roster.
