MEAC Rookie of the Week Samantha Stevenson is a poised, ground-ball left? no: right-handed? right-handed pitching anchor for Norfolk State
In 2026, Norfolk State freshman right-handed pitcher Samantha Stevenson has already shown she can handle pressure, earning MEAC Rookie of the Week after a complete-game effort against Howard and a complete-game shutout in a previous conference showcase. Her profile stands out for poise, tempo control, and keeping the ball on the ground—she induced 12 groundouts in one outing and described staying composed by trusting her teammates, a useful sign for a staff valuing maturity and competitiveness. If you want a young arm with immediate run-prevention upside and a calm presence, she fits.
