Reliable SIU Guard Who Brings Spot-Minutes Value and 3-Point Touch
Dawson Verhines profiles as a dependable, low-usage guard for Southern Illinois, with a season line of 1.0 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game and 4-of-8 shooting from three in the cited SIU/ESPN data. He also earned real trust in his role, appearing in 31 games and making his first career start on Senior Day, which suggests coaches valued his effort and readiness. For a team, he fits best as a steady rotation piece who can provide spacing, energy, and professionalism rather than volume scoring.
