Kevin Buford’s Iowa profile: a physical, versatile defensive back with proven playmaking chops
Kevin Buford arrived at Iowa as a multi-sport, two-way high school standout who earned first-team all-state honors and produced on both defense and special teams, including 29 tackles and a pick-six as a senior. As a recruit, he was viewed as a quick, competitive corner with solid burst and change-of-direction ability, and Iowa used him early as a true freshman in 2012. His appeal is the blend of toughness, versatility, and return-game value; if you want a DB who’ll hit, compete, and help in multiple phases, he’s the kind of player coaches trust.
