Versatile Freshman With a Two-Way High School Resume
Garratt enters Colorado as a true freshman projected at linebacker, and his high-school profile suggests a high-motor, physical defender with unusual two-way value: as a senior he piled up 145 tackles, 9 sacks and 4 interceptions while also rushing for 1,010 yards and 15 touchdowns. That combination hints at short-area toughness, contact balance and competitive instincts that translate well to special teams or a depth role early. For a staff looking for upside, he looks like a developmental fit with range, effort and playmaking versatility.
