Abbington is a physical, tackle-breaking running back whose profile has long centered on power, explosiveness, and a compact build; 247Sports grades him especially well in build, tackle-breaking, power, explosiveness, and speed, and Southeast Missouri State lists him as a former four-star recruit and top-30 RB in the 2013 class.[4][5] His current production has been modest—132 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD on 52 carries, with a 2.5 yards-per-carry average—so he looks more like a depth/role fit than a volume engine right now, but his value is the ability to run through contact and offer a physical change-of-pace when the offense needs toughness.[2]
