A bruising, rebound-first Mountaineer who lived in the paint
Culver’s calling card at West Virginia was relentless interior work: in the 2020-21 season, he averaged 14.3 points and a Big 12-best 9.4 rebounds per game, after posting 11.5 points and 9.9 boards as a freshman. He was a physical 6-10 forward who carved out offense on hustle, second chances, and tough finishes rather than perimeter flair. What made him matter was the motor—he could dominate the glass and bend a game’s energy—but teams also had to live with the rough edges: early career discipline issues, limited range, and a game built almost entirely on the block.
