Florida State’s towering rim protector: Solomon Alabi’s defensive anchor potential
Solomon Alabi was best known at Florida State for elite size and shot-blocking presence, earning ACC All-Freshman honors in 2009, third-team All-ACC in 2010, and two ACC All-Defensive selections; at 7-foot-1, he offered a rare interior deterrent that changes how opponents attack the lane.[1][4] His value comes from defensive disruption and length more than scoring polish, so he fits best as a team-first center who can protect the rim, rebound, and play physical basketball without needing touches to matter.[1][2][6]
