High-Impact Center with Elite Steals and Unmatched Grit for Arizona State
Ayanna Edwards, the 6-foot-4 Center for Arizona State, stands out not just for her 54.5% field goal accuracy but for her defensive intensity, leading with 4 steals in a single game against San Diego—a stat that reveals her relentless perimeter disruption despite playing as a post player. Her differentiator is her 'Sun Devil Grit': she plays with explosive energy, rarely hesitates, and brings a personality that elevates team morale, as seen in her excitement during day-one practice with new teammates. While her scoring averages (1.6 PPG) are modest, her rebounding battles and steal leadership show she’s a high-effort fit for any team needing a defensive anchor who doesn’t just box out but actively hunts the ball. No major injury history is recorded, and her intensity level is consistently elite, making her a reliable, battle-tested center who thrives in rebounding wars and defensive transitions.
