Iowa’s steady, high-IQ guard with a pass-first pedigree
In the 2015-16 season, Michael Soukup was a depth guard for Iowa, and the available profile data suggests his calling card was playmaking: a 6-foot-4 guard with elite high-school assist numbers and a reputation for leadership, composure, and toughness. His differentiators are basketball IQ, unselfishness, and versatility, not flashy scoring. He also came from a winning program and was a four-time captain, which matters if you want a mature locker-room fit. There isn’t strong evidence of major college production, so he profiles more as a culture and depth piece than a headline-making rotation engine.
