C.J. Smith gives Southern Illinois a steady guard with two-way value
C.J. Smith profiles as a **reliable, defensive-minded guard** whose value is bigger than box-score noise: at prior stops he showed solid scoring efficiency, rebounding from the backcourt, and the kind of steal/block activity coaches like in a competitor. Southern Illinois lists him as a guard, and outside scouting data points to a player who can fit into multiple roles rather than needing the ball to matter. If you want a guard who brings toughness, versatility, and low-drama production, he’s a sensible fit.
