Colgate’s Declan Norton Brings High-Motor Linebacker Pedigree, But 2026 Game Tape Still Needs to Speak
Declan Norton enters the 2026 season as a 6-foot-2, 230-pound sophomore linebacker at Colgate, with a strong high school résumé built on tackling production, team captaincy, and defensive MVP honors. His calling card is physicality and activity: he piled up 172 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and nine sacks in one stretch at Walsh Jesuit, showing instinctive run support and pass-rush pop. The big question for Colgate is projection, not polish, because current-season college stats aren’t available yet—so he looks like a developmental fit for a team that values toughness, effort, and upside.
