North Texas DL John Ryan: a deep-rotation piece with unfinished upside
John Ryan appears on North Texas’ 2026 defensive line roster, but publicly available stat pages don’t show notable production for him yet, so the clean read is that he’s more of an evaluation play than a proven impact defender. For a Mean Green front that listed multiple bigger-bodied DL options in 2026, the fit question is whether Ryan brings quickness, motor, and line-of-scrimmage toughness that translate into disruption beyond box-score stats. If your team wants a developmental lineman with room to grow, he’s worth a look; if you need instant production, the evidence is thin.
