Penn DL Matthew McElroy brings proven Ivy League production and veteran edge
Matthew McElroy is a dependable Penn defensive lineman with a track record of disruptive play: in 2021 he started all 10 games and posted 19 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and three quarterback hurries, while earlier Penn materials note he ranked among the Ivy League’s better pressure creators and served as a team captain[4][7]. The fit appeal is his combo of experience, toughness, and assignment discipline more than flashy size-speed numbers, making him the kind of interior defender coaches trust to set the tone. ESPN lists him on Penn’s 2026 roster, but public 2026 game-log production is not yet shown in the search results[1][5].
