Jerry Green was a fearless, all-around UC Irvine floor general
In the 2001–02 season, Jerry Green averaged 20.3 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.9 rebounds for UC Irvine, leading the Anteaters in scoring and playmaking while shooting 48.2% from the field. He was a two-time Big West Player of the Year and a four-year starter who never missed a game, which tells you plenty about his durability, competitiveness, and trust level. The big differentiator: he wasn’t just a scorer — he was the engine, with the court vision and late-game poise that made him a true program centerpiece.
