Virginia Tech's Forgotten Hokies QB from the Late '90s Era
David 'Dave' Meyer, born November 14, 1977, was a high school standout from Ramsey High School who lettered in football, basketball, and track before walking on as a quarterback for the Virginia Tech Hokies; his college playing time was limited, leading to brief pro stints with Roanoke Steam, Indianapolis Colts, and Green Bay Packers, plus a graduate assistant role under Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher at LSU—highlighting his football IQ, versatility, and coaching pedigree as key differentiators over raw stats, though no recent performance data exists as he's long retired from active play.
