Jack Fortner brings starter potential and strike-throwing upside to MTSU’s rotation
In the 2025 season, Jack Fortner logged 11 appearances and 14.2 innings for Middle Tennessee, then made two starts, showing the Blue Raiders are willing to trust him in bigger spots; he also opened that year with a scoreless debut and two shutout innings with no hits allowed against FDU. He’s a 6-foot, 185-pound right-hander with a local Tennessee background and an honors-roll academic profile, which suggests a reliable, coachable arm. The raw stat line wasn’t spotless, but the trajectory says useful depth now with upside if his command sharpens.
