Cruce Brookins is turning into Pitt’s take-charge safety
In the 2025 season, Cruce Brookins flashed as a disruptive, high-activity DB for Pittsburgh, finishing with 44 tackles, two interceptions, and two pass breakups while earning Honorable Mention All-ACC honors[4]. At 6-foot-0/6-foot-2 and around 195 pounds, he brings a good mix of length, physicality, and ball production, and Pitt’s staff has already trusted him in a bigger role because he plays fast, tackles reliably, and shows playmaker instincts in the back end[1][15]. If a team wants a safety who can cover ground, hit, and create turnovers, Brookins fits the bill nicely[1][4].
