Caleb Bates brings size and a hard-nosed interior presence to UMass Lowell
Bates is a 6-foot-7 forward whose UMass Lowell profile shows a developmental big with real length and physicality, and his freshman debut came in the 2020-21 season when he scored in his first appearance against NC State. The strongest signal in the available team and stats pages is that he profiles as a frontcourt energy piece rather than a volume scorer: useful if you want rebound effort, toughness, and a player willing to embrace a role. The downside is the limited public production record, so he reads more like a project with upside than a finished, stat-stuffing anchor.
