Joseph Boletepeli brings length, edge pressure, and proven transfer upside to Maryland
Boletepeli is a long, physical edge defender whose best trait is his ability to threaten tackles with burst and length; at Maryland, he was projected as a JACK-style piece because of that speed-off-the-snap profile. In his Maryland debut season, he recorded 8 tackles with 1 tackle for loss, and his earlier NC State résumé included 13 tackles over 9 games, so he’s more of a developmental disruptor than a pure stat monster. Why care? He fits a defense that wants versatility, energy, and a player who can win with effort and twitch, not just size.
