Hawaii's Gritty Walk-On Turned Big West Standout
Brocke Stepteau, a Dallas native who arrived at Hawaii as an unheralded walk-on over five years ago, showcased clutch prowess in the 2019 season, earning Big West Player of the Week honors with a 21-point, 7-rebound explosion at Cal State Fullerton (15 in the second half) and averaging 19.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists across a critical road sweep. ESPN lists his career marks at 7.2 PPG, 44.8% FG, but his differentiator is relentless intensity and leadership that snaps losing streaks—perfect for teams needing a battle-tested, high-motor guard who thrives under pressure.
