The durable, signal-calling heart of ETSU’s defense
In the 2021 season, Jared Folks was a do-everything middle linebacker for ETSU, finishing with 94 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and an interception while earning third-team FCS All-America honors from Phil Steele[2][3]. What makes him stand out isn’t just the tackle count: he’s been praised as a 6-foot-1, 230-pound field general who calls the defense, plays with real accountability, and brings rare veteran stability after an unprecedented injury-and-eligibility journey that made him college football’s first eight-year player[2][4][5].
