Nathaniel Widelski brings speed, contact pop, and big-game spark to UC San Diego
In the 2026 season, Nathaniel Widelski emerged as a useful Tritons outfielder with a .208 batting line and a .703 OPS, while also flashing impact moments like his first collegiate hit and home run—a two-run shot in a 6-5 extra-innings loss at San Diego. He added value with versatility in the field, some baserunning juice, and a reputation for winning baseball, highlighted by multiple all-league honors in high school and a 2025 Male Scholar Athlete of the Year nod. The fit is intriguing if a team wants a high-character athlete with upside and maturity.
