Steady, playmaking linebacker with a proven nose for the football
Butler has the profile of an impact inside linebacker: in 2008 he started all 12 games for Murray State and posted 91 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, and 2 interceptions, after leading the team in 2007 with 79 tackles, 5 sacks, and 10.5 tackles for loss.[2] His differentiators are production, instincts, and splash-play ability—he has consistently shown he can finish plays, force turnovers, and deliver in high-leverage moments, including a goal-line pass breakup to preserve a win.[2] At 5-11 and 216 pounds, he looks like a disciplined, high-motor defender who fits best in a scheme that values tackling reliability and assignment soundness.[2]
