Johnny Griffin Jr. brings two-way grit and veteran savvy to Chicago State

Johnny Griffin Jr. is a 6-5 G/F from Chicago State’s 2014-15 roster who, in the 2014-15 season, was valued more for hustle than box-score fireworks: he played in 31 games, started two, and showed defensive juice with steals and active perimeter length. He’s the kind of wing who can help a team by doing the dirty work, staying engaged, and fitting into a role without needing touches. If you want a reliable glue guy who understands structure and competes, he’s intriguing; if you need a high-volume scorer, he’s not that guy.
